Upcoming Untold Stories Events

8 p.m., Wed., May 9--Minnesota History Day encourages YA to explore a historical subject related to an annual theme--this year, "Triumph and Tragedy." The program promotes the study of history by engaging students and teachers in the excitement of historical inquiry and creative presentation. Watch labor history come alive with imaginative exhibits, original performances and media presentations, as students display their 2007 projects at the Saint Paul Labor Center, 411 Mahoney (AKA Main St.), Saint Paul.

7 p.m., Thurs., May 10--In honor of the Saint Paul Public Library's 125th anniversary in 2007, Untold Stories looks at labor in the library. Join Saint Paul Public Library associate Robin Madsen, of Local 1842; Jan DeSirey, president of AFSCME Local 2864 and a Teen Services librarian at the Southdale Public Library; and Urban Library Program administrator Regina Harris, for a program that looks at over 125 years of labor history at the library, and toward the changing conditions of library workers in the future.
