Larry Hlavsa, director at the St. Helena (CA) Public Library for the past six and one half years, began a new position as New Ulm Public Library director on August 1st. Larry is a Minnesota-native who worked for nearly twenty years at the St. Paul Public Library, then briefly at the Metropolitan Library Services Agency (MELSA) before moving to California in 2001 to be the St. Helena director. Larry's three children, Lora (15), Jacob (13) and Galen (11) will be attending New Ulm public schools this fall.
