MN Sesquicentennial “Many Languages, Many Voices” Grant Project

Residents of Minnesota are invited to participate in photo, poster and mini research projects about our state’s multilingual and multicultural heritage during its 150 history. Selected submissions will be incorporated into multimedia presentations disseminated throughout the state’s historical societies, ethnic heritage, civic and educational organizations. How have various languages and cultures impacted your community over the state’s history? Submit a project. Put your community on the project’s map!Submission deadline: April 30, 2008

Photo Projects
Pictures tell stories. Any Minnesota resident can submit two comparative photos that depict language and cultural heritage(s) in your community at two points in time during Minnesota’s history.

Poster Projects
K-16 students can submit 11 x 17 color posters (electronic or paper) that depict the slogan “Many Languages, Many Voices, One State: Their Legacy Past and Present”.

Mini Research Projects
Any Minnesota resident can submit a “snapshot in time”, comparing cultures within communities – aspects of everyday life, within any time period ranging from 150+ years ago to the present.
